Alzayani Investments is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Food Safety Officer to join our dynamic team in Manama, Bahrain. This is a Full-Time position within a prestigious and well-established organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all food handling, preparation, and storage processes comply with the highest standards of safety and hygiene, contributing to our reputation for quality and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company's food safety management systems, including HACCP procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of all food-related operations to ensure strict adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international food safety regulations and legislation.
  • Organise and deliver comprehensive food safety training for all relevant staff members.
  • Investigate any food safety incidents, customer complaints, or non-conformance issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all food safety activities, including audits, training, and incident reports.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and third-party auditors to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Monitor sanitation practices and pest control programmes to prevent contamination.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to vet and approve suppliers, ensuring they meet our stringent safety standards.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in food safety standards and best practices.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience working as a Food Safety Officer or in a similar quality assurance role within the food industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety management systems, such as HACCP, ISO 22000, and BRC.
  • A strong understanding of food safety laws and regulations applicable in Bahrain.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and guide staff.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Relevant professional certifications in food safety (e.g., HACCP Level 3 or 4) are highly desirable.
